The Fertilizer, FERTILIZERS, FARM FEEDS, AGRICULTURAL REMEDIES AND STOCK REMEDIES ACT, 1947 (ACT No. 36 OF 1947) is the legislative framework for plant protection products (agricultural remedies), which includes biologic remedies.
The information requirements differ between those of the active ingredient and those of the formulated product. In the case of the active ingredient, information on identity and toxicology and environmental studies must be presented. On the other hand, for the formulated product the information requirements are more extensive: toxicology, physicochemical properties, local or international studies on bees, efficacy, and residues (if applicable).
